In view of the increasing operating costs, Reliance Communications has decided to hike mobile tariffs by nearly 20 percent for all their subscribers.
According to RCOM, all the Commitment Plans, which are used by a huge number of their customers, will be increased by 20 – 30 percent with immediate effect. The Commitment Plan 21 and the Commitment Plan 45 tariff is hiked from 1 paise per second to 1.2 paisa per second.
At the same time, Promotional and Concessional Offers have been cut by a whopping 65 percent. The Commitment Plan 48, which used to offer 500 minutes earlier, is now reduced to 160 minutes. Also the Commitment Plan 46 now offers 140 minutes against the earlier 200 minutes.
RCOM has completed the migration of the entire base to Headline tariffs of 1.5 paise. Claiming that this move has had no effect on their customer demand, the company feels that this move will help get greater RPMs and profitability.
