BSNL to re-launch 3G data STV – YUVA

Last year in October BSNL has launched 2 promotional 3G Data STV – ‘Yuva’ for 90 days. It seems that BSNL is now planning to regularize these plans by relaunching these 3G Data STV plans.





For those who are unable to remember what these plans offered, here are the details. There are two Yuva 3G Data STVs priced at Rs. 120 and Rs. 599.

Rs. 120 3G Data STV offers 250 MB of 3G data along with 1250 MB 3G data for night usage which is 11 PM to 7 AM. So the total 3G data offers is 1500 MB. It comes with a validity of 30 days.

Rs. 599 3G Data STV offers 3000 MB of 3G data along with 4000 MB 3G data for night usage which is 11 PM to 7 AM. So the total 3G data offers is 7000 MB. It comes with a validity of 30 days.

These plans will be available from 25th March 2013.

Reliance Jio Infocomm joins consortium for establishment of Bay of Bengal Gateway cable system

In an effort to provide connectivity and diversity to the Indian subscribers, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited has joined the consortium for the establishment of the Bay of Bengal Gateway (BBG) submarine cable system.
The Bay of Bengal Gateway (BBG) submarine cable system has been collaboratively established by the participating consortium members – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) (Malaysia), Vodafone Group (UK), Omantel (Oman), Etisalat (UAE), Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (India) and Dialog Axiata (Sri Lanka). The members of the consortium signed the Construction and Maintenance Agreement (C&MA) and the Supply Contract for BBG in Kuala Lumpur today.



As per the agreement, The BBG submarine cable system, spanning approximately 8,000 km, will link Malaysia (through Penang) and Singapore to the Middle East (Oman and United Arab Emirates) with connections reaching out to India (Mumbai and Chennai) and Sri Lanka. The BBG submarine cable system will not only provide connectivity between South East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East, but also to Europe, Africa and to the Far East Asia through inter-connections with other existing and newly built cable systems landing in India, the Middle East and the Far East Asia.

The construction of the cable system, which is a clear indication of the growing demand for bandwidth at the member countries, will also serve as an extraordinary opportunity for business growth as it will help supporting current and future high capacity requirements from the surrounding areas of the region as well as next generation Internet applications. The BBG cable system would be adopting the state-of-the-art 100Gbps technology, which provide upgradable and transmission facilities. The cable is expected to be ready by the end of 2014.

Vodafone India Launches ‘My Vodafone’ App For Android

Vodafone India has launched a ’my Vodafone’ app for its subscribers to let them manage their Postpaid and Prepaid mobile services.

Similar to Bharti Airtel’s ”my airtel app‘, ’myVodafone’ app is free to download application includes ability to check outstanding postpaid bills and un-billed amount, recharge prepaid accounts, make online payments, activate or deactivate any VAS service on postpaid and prepaid mobile etc. Users can also raise requests/ complaints and track their status as well as he/she can view their current 2G or 3G data plan details and data usage.

Currently ‘My Vodafone’ app is available for Android smartphone users through Google Play Store only and is expected to launch on other Mobile OS soon.

Things to remember :

You must be a Vodafone India customer to use the app (not available for business customers)
To see your account information in the app you need a My Vodafone Login ID and password.
If you have and existing Login ID and password (created on Vodafone India website) you can use the same. Else you can create a Login ID within the app (using Register option).
Same Login ID and Password can be used on Web and the app.
If you’re new to Vodafone or have recently upgraded, your certain account information will be available only after your first bill
Purchase of the application is free however download charges do apply for downloading from the Android Market Place
Data charges apply for the app usage and are based on your plan rates
If you use the app abroad, standard international charges will apply
